BREMBO Motorcycle and Scooter Pads since 1972

On January 11, 1961, Emilio Bombassei and Italo Breda formed the Officine Meccaniche di Sombreno, the original nucleus of Brembo. With them there was already the current President Alberto Bombassei, at the time just twenty years old.

Since then, Brembo has faced a path of half a century that has led the company to become the undisputed leader in the world dei braking systems. In 1964 Brembo began to produce brake discs for cars, in 1972 also brakes for motorcycles and in 1975 he entered Formula 1, where he also supplied his own systems to Ferrari single-seaters. In recent years, technological innovation and continuous research on materials and processing techniques have made Brembo a brand of absolute prestige worldwide.

In 1995 the company was listed on the Milan Stock Exchange and inaugurated a strategy of growth and internationalization that will lead it over time to have production sites all over the world, ever-growing turnover and a constantly increasing number of employees.

Today Brembo boasts production plants all over the world and is the undisputed leader in the sector.

In the field of Motorcycle Pads Brembo diversifies its products into 5 Lines, each with different compounds according to needs:

RACING LINE:

RACING – RC COMPOUND

Compound designed solely for use on the track, a real racing pad suitable for any type of competition. The main characteristics of this compound are high friction and consistent performance, especially with high disc temperatures. These features guarantee excellent and uniform braking for the entire duration of the race, making it less likely that the fading effect will occur. At low temperatures, the efficiency of this compound is limited and, consequently, it is not suitable for road use.

RACING - SC COMPOUND

Sintered compound for track use. The good coefficient of hot friction and above all the stability at high temperatures allow you to keep braking constant from the first to the last lap.

The sintered compound, specific for front application, characterized by good performance and stability together with exceptional durability.

COMPOUND SA

It is a sintered compound, specific for front application, characterized by excellent efficiency in all conditions of use. It is therefore the ideal alternative to the original tablets, both cold and hot. This compound is characterized by low wear that guarantees durability and adequate mileage.

SP COMPOUND

It is a sintered compound specific for rear application, stable in all conditions of use. It is characterized by a high coefficient of constant friction in all conditions of use, therefore both cold and hot together with a contained wear that guarantees adequate duration and mileage.

CC COMPOUND - CARBON CERAMIC

It represents the evolution of the organic compound, with the use of greater amount of carbon. High mileage, good performance both hot and cold, dry and wet, characterize this friction material.



OFF ROAD LINE:

LEFT COMPOUND

This sintered compound designed for Off-Road and SuperMotard is designed to ensure maximum efficiency and consistency of performance in the various conditions of use of the motorcycle off-road, therefore cold, hot and in extremely difficult conditions of use (water, sand, mud) that require braking even at low disc temperatures. For this reason, the resistance of the material to external agents is particularly high. This pad is very aggressive and resistant to high temperatures and is recommended, therefore, for Motocross and SuperMotard.

SD COMPOUND

Sintered off-road. Good efficiency and  remarkable stability in all conditions of use. Good wear resistance even in the presence of water and mud. Being more aggressive than the SX, it is therefore particularly recommended for enduro.

TT COMPOUND

The Semi-metallic Carbon Ceramic that makes up the pad is also suitable for Off-Road use. It is a highly modular material, formulated to work both dry and wet. It is particularly effective in situations of poor adherence, where high modulation is required.



SCOOTER LINE:

SCOOTER - XS COMPOUND

It is a sintered compound specific for Scooter applications, both front and rear, extremely stable and able to guarantee constant performance in all riding situations. It is the ideal material for the latest generation maxi scooters and characterized by extreme ease of running-in. These pads, in fact, have been specifically designed for this type of vehicle, characterized by use in the city, where the typical braking of the Scooter is different from that of a motorcycle.

SCOOTER - CARBON CERAMIC COMPOUND

An organic compound for scooters with an excellent quality/price ratio, high durability and optimal behavior in all conditions of use. It guarantees long distances and stability, especially in urban routes, where the typical braking of the Scooter is different from that of a motorcycle.

Genuine Compound - Carbon Ceramic

Chosen by the motorcycle manufacturers, it is the Carbon Ceramic material developed by Brembo for original equipment. On the catalog available from retailers, cases are highlighted in which the proposed code corresponds exactly to the material used on the specific application. Genuine pads are available in different compounds, each of which has a different friction coefficient. The coefficient of friction is expressed by a number with a value ranging from 1 to 99: the greater the value of this number, the greater the coefficient of friction of that particular compound.
