The helmet is a fundamental element, but it is difficult to choose between the different models on the market. The choice of the best motorcycle helmet depends on the use and specific needs, but surely there are substantial differences that indicate the best way to make the decision. There are full-face helmets, capable of giving maximum safety to those who love running; modular helmets, known to be safe and comfortable; the jet helmets, more suitable for city use, and the adventure helmets, with elegance, lightness and flexibility in a mixture of features that combines the peculiarities of the cross helmet and the integral one.

With this information you can choose more consciously which model is best for you. Of course these elements are the most important, but you should also take into account the materials used and the safety tests carried out on the articles.

casco integrale moto

INTEGRAL MOTORCYCLE HELMET

It protects the entire head including the nape of the neck and has a thick movable visor. It is the type that offers the highest degree of protection and is generally used by car and motorcycle drivers in competitions (such as the World Championship and Formula 1) and by those who make medium-long trips with the motorcycle and / or in winter. This type of helmet bears the word "P" on the approval label.

casco jet

MOTORCYCLE JET AND DEMI-JET HELMET

Compared to the full-face helmet, Jet helmets do not have the frontmost part of the chin guard, so they have a structure that stretches and protects the cheeks. In the event of a collision it does not offer great protection to the jaw, jaw and nose that are covered only by the visor. This type of helmet has the letter "J" indicated on the approval label.

The demi-jet helmet is similar to the jet but, compared to this, it is characterized by the absence of cheek protection and shorter length in the nape area to offer better mobility of the head, to the detriment of protection. Demi-jet helmets are generally equipped with a folding visor.

Casco Modulare

MODULAR HELMET - OPENABLE

Modular, Crossover or Openable: modular helmets are full-face helmets with the chin guard that can be removed or folded, to obtain greater comfort and widen the field of vision. These can be divided into two types, the "Openable", in which the chin guard can be raised or tilted backwards, while remaining always attached to the helmet, and the "Crossover", which instead provide for the removal of the chin guard.
For this type of helmet there is no specific homologation: some (usually the oldest) are approved simply as Jet (letter "J" in the homologation label), some as Integrali (letter "P"), others have double homologation (indicated with "J / P"). In the use of this type of helmet it is necessary to pay attention to the homologation: if it is approved as integral it is not possible to circulate with the chin guard open, as the helmet may not offer adequate protection for the relative homologation.
