Spring is coming... It's time to travel! Everyone prepares in his own way and in his own style, who wants everything in order, who loves the most adventurous and messy style, but we all need some bag to contain our luggage. Soft bags are a good buy at a good price, whether we are dei mile-eaters, or we use the bike only for the weekend.
Let's find out how to travel light, but without forgetting anything, we motorcyclists could say that we have the Rules of the 3 "I": indispensable, important, waterproof. That's why:
INDISPENSABLE: limit luggage to essential things, spare clothes, without exaggerating, useful accessories in the journey and for our holiday, in moderation, all to travel light and agile in stopping and leaving.
IMPORTANT: put the less important things at the bottom of the bags and gradually fill with the most useful and important things, so as to have at hand, as soon as you open the bag: wallets, documents, rainproof.
WATERPROOF: make sure that everything stays dry in the case of a passing cloud and we take a little rain, this applies whether we are taking a long trip or a Sunday ride, because you know, being wet is not pleasant.
Soft bags are easy to assemble with standard straps, magnets and frames, they are less bulky than rigid bags (top case and side cases) that cost more. The bags are produced with light but robust materials (Cordura or Nylon or polyester), almost always equipped with rain caps. The main "flaw" is given by the fact that they are easily opened by any malicious people, compared to those in plastic or aluminum, but many are designed to add a padlock. But we can choose between different types of bags:
The tank bag is part of the classic travel kit, they are applied to the tank thanks to magnets or straps, and are the ones that follow the style dei travelers the most. Usually we motorcyclists put photographic equipment, navigator or tablet, they are the bags designed to make some essential objects immediately accessible. GIVI has patented the Tanklock fixing system, which allows the attachment and release between the bottom of the bag and the flange to be screwed to the fuel cap.
The side bags are rigid but not made of plastic or aluminum like suitcases, in fact they are lighter but have the same function, containing the clothing in an orderly way, preventing it from crumpling too much, they are also often equipped with handles just to be held in the hand and carried with them as a classic luggage.
